Detoxing has been around for a very long time but only recently have more and more people started asking, ” what is it?” and “should I detox?”. Detoxing, is certainly on the cusp of an explosion. It just makes sense. It’s a lifestyle that encompasses what you eat, what you drink, your physical activity and your mind, emotions and spirit. It’s something that can have a tremendous impact on your health and on your life. But don’t worry you’re not running away to join a cult, you’re not going to be a social outcast, or subscribing to something...

We all yearn internally to live simply if we know it or not. If you don’t know it than it is very likely that you are not in touch with your inner self, or intuition. When life is simple and we live from a place of inner satisfaction we are able to come from a place of higher values toward ourselves and others such as humility, compassion, forgiveness, patience and gratitude. When insatiable greed becomes one’s driving force, it is a common to fall in the unfortunate mood of wanting to take advantage of others and live from values that degrade us such as greed, envy, lust, anger...

The ocean water being about 31 degrees (almost ice) put me in shock as I was being tossed around by the powerful currents. For about 5 minutes I struggled really hard to try and swim to the closest shore, but the water started taking its toll on me and rendering me ineffective against the powers of nature.
At this moment I began to contemplate my death and felt myself become weak and more faint on each passing minute. I now came to a point where I felt all I could do is keep myself above the water and my perception had got to a point where I was losing track of what was really happening to me. At...

When one is in knowledge, there is a understanding that every action has a re-action. On the surface of it, we could very easily reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It’s highly possible, and it’s simply a question of mathematics. Very simple mathematics, at that. The problem is, we’ve got too much of something producing methane emissions and other types of greenhouse gas emission. We need to do three things: Cut down on the number of organisms producing those gases, and change our way of life so that we don’t produce quite so much. The third step is to improve carbon sequestration by slowing the rate at which we destroy the planet’s rainforests.
We need to...

One of the fundamental principles of Yoga/Qigong practice is that prana (energy, life-force, qi) follows citta (mind, intention, focus). You can experiment with this, right now, by closing your eyes (after you read the rest of this paragraph!), and then placing as much of your attention/focus into one of your hands (say, your left hand) as you can: as you inhale and exhale, think of sending waves of love or kindness or joy (or some other up-lifting quality) into your left hand. Breathe and focus in this way, on your left hand, for a minute or two, or longer … and notice what happens, notice how...

Breathing is a continuous activity in the life of man. Man can live without other basic needs, but cannot stay without the presence of oxygen. Usually breathing is performed without paying any attention to it; however, attention is required to control it.
Pranayam is the best form of controlling breath. When you breathe oxygen enters your lungs and stimulates all the organs in the body. This procedure indicates that you are alive. When this function stops you happen to cease.
But it is very essential to breathe in the right mode because it influences every organ in the body. Therefore when we consume...
